Returning: A Play

Returning, a new play by Merle Feld, follows the deepest stirrings of an imagined minyan in 2020 on Yom Kippur, each character longing for meaning, forgiveness, understanding, courage. Some favorite characters are reprised from their 1985 debut in the classic, The Gates are Closing, allowing us to see how their lives have unfolded in the intervening decades, other characters are newly created. Seven rabbis from three movements, two rabbinical students, and one RK (rabbis' kid - that apostrophe is not misplaced!) comprise the cast for this world premier reading.
