Forgiveness-focused approaches to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur can create problems for those living with the life-altering consequences of abuse, violence, or other forms of injustice. The urge to reconcile can be a stumbling block, and sometimes forgiveness is neither possible nor desirable. This text study will explore the advantages of moving away from a focus on forgiveness and towards a focus on teshuva.
