Excerpts of The American Selihot Service

How do we turn our hearts, minds and souls to God to be prepared for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur?  Gary William Friedman has composed a service with some traditional materials, but mostly his own heartfelt melodies that reach out hopefully as we pray to be forgiven – in a way that seems to express a strong belief that we will be heard and that we will be forgiven.  Cantor Jack Chomsky, who was intimately involved in the creation of the work, will guide this half-hour that will inspire and thrill more than one might expect β€œat such an hour!”
